How Fax Storage Works

How to save faxes on Fax.Live

The Fax.Live dashboard interface has two sections where you can save faxes: The Inbox and the Sent sections. Under these subheadings, you’ll find your incoming and outbound faxes with the fax numbers received from or sent to.

The Fax.Live dashboard shows 3 received faxes, one failed fax, 3 sent faxes plus the user information.

Click on any of your faxes to view the information about the fax. From there, you can Download or Print it to save the fax on your computer or phone.

Fax details shows date received, time received number of pages and options to download, print delete and close.

How do I find stored fax documents on my computer?

Find downloaded documents wherever you saved them — that’s what can make this tough to answer, because each person manages their own file organization differently. Typically, devices default to a folder on devices called “Downloads” or “Documents.” A faxed document will most commonly be saved as a PDF

  • On a Windows PC, search for “.PDF” in your file explorer to see all of the PDFs in your Downloads or Documents folders. Or, if you remember the file name or keywords from the file name, search for that.
  • On a Mac, open the Finder window (Function + F) and type Spotlight. You can then type kind:PDF to search for all PDFs on your device and include keywords if you remember the name of the file.

If you plan to download your faxes (in addition to or instead of using Fax.Live’s cloud storage), we suggest that you create a folder on your device called Faxes. Depending on your device and the operation system, the option might look something like this. Select New Folder and call it Faxes

Can I access stored faxes from my phone?

Access stored faxes from your phone by navigating to the Documents or Download area in your phone’s files. Your stored fax will likely be categorized as a document by your smartphone.

  • On Android, open the My Files app and select Documents.
  • On iPhone, open the Files app and choose My iPhone to search for documents downloaded to your phone.

You can also search your files on smartphones for your fax. You will need to know the name of your downloaded fax to search for it, though. Alternatively, search for PDFs, as that is the most likely file type that your fax will be downloaded as.

Is online fax storage secure?

Yes, Fax.Live uses secure cloud storage to protect all sent and received faxes. Your documents are stored in your private, password-protected account and are only accessible to you. All files are transmitted over encrypted connections and securely stored on protected servers.

Can I resend a fax that’s saved in my dashboard?

Yes, you can resend all faxes that are saved in the Fax.Live dashboard. Download it to your device, then select Send New Fax. Locate the file, upload it, and follow the prompts to resend it or send it to someone else.

The Fax dot live drag and drop feature shows five PDFs that are ready to upload to send by fax.

How do I print an archived fax?

To print a fax that’s been archived or saved in Fax.Live, from your Dashboard, find the fax in your Inbox. Click it once to open it. In the Fax Information box, select Print, and follow the prompts. You’ll be able to select which pages you want to print, how many copies, the paper size and scale it as needed to fit the page.
