Each time you send a fax, you’ll be given the option to include a free fax cover sheet. It costs nothing from your account (no fax credits are deducted for using the built-in Fax.Live cover sheet). The built-in free form includes the following fields: To, From, Recipient Phone, Sender Phone, Pages (autofilled), Date (autofilled), Subject, and Message. All fields are optional, except the date, which our system automatically completes. 

What is a fax cover page?

Great question, and we probably shouldn’t have assumed everyone knows what a cover page is! A cover page — or cover sheet — contains important information about a fax transmission, including sender and recipient information. It answers the questions: who is this fax for, who is sending the fax, how many pages are in the fax, and when was it set? There’s also a space for a personalized message.

Why include a cover sheet/page?

The cover sheet ensures your message gets to the right person or department. I can also include any pertinent information that you want to include, such as a request for call back. Many businesses receive dozens (or more!) of fax messages every day. A cover page includes important information about your faxed message. Two of the most important pieces of information include the recipient (department or person) and the number of pages.

May I use my own fax cover page?

Yes, of course! If you prefer to use your own cover sheet, simply upload it with your fax document (it must be in a PDF format). Select Send New Fax, upload your document(s), and leave the Optional Free Cover Sheet toggled to the off position.   

Required fax information is the recipient's fax number. Optional info is the recipient's name, your name, your number and a note.
